Metro journeys are tiring, sometimes irritating and frustrating but i guess my destiny had a different vision for me.
It was Kashmere Gate metro station,I was already late and was waiting for the metro to come as I had to reach Hauz Khas . With bag on my shoulders and earphones in my ears(where else they can be) , i was humming the song "kaash ye pal tham jaye".
When you are about to travel in metro and specially from an interchanging station you should be mentally prepared that you are going to be standing by the door side or between the junction of two coaches, i love the air there, it plays with my hair.
So i boarded the metro, standing somewhere in the coach, the same song continued with its another line "haathon ki...kismat ka...koi jaane na maane..ye saath hai kitna haseen".
Somehow the song and my destiny mingled with each other. I realized someone was looking at me or i looked at her when she was looking at me, whatever it hardly matters because next 15 minutes were so beautiful to inquire how it all started. We had an eye contact roughly for few seconds but it had a long lasting effect.
By the time we crossed Rajiv Chowk there were a few eye contacts and smiles exchanged.
I got the seat right next to her but not for so long. I was having a feeling of ecstasy as my playlist was so smart to do so.
There were a few irrelevant questions in
1. Should i talk to her?
2. What will i say?
3. Yaar mai chep lagunga, nahi sud do not initiate.
4. Hi, i am sudhanshu, (duh, abhi uth kar chali jaegi.).
5. Hello, (aur aage ?).
So i kept myself quite and started living my ecstasy moment again with the song
"you are beautiful" by "james blunt"
"you are beautiful" by "james
With a bang some idiotic ideas came to my mind -
--> sud! Use ye gaana suna de (suna de? Excuse me, aawaz suni hai apni?)
--> earphones de de, best rahega (umm..ya this could be done).
And with high rate of uncertainty i offered her my earphones. With a smile and a sign to put them in ears. Guess what? She did. Yes ! Yes ! Yes!
Song started and somewhere in between she took the earphone out and received 2 calls.
Does not matter. She listened to it very sweetly. I took my earphones back and continued with my, ???? i don't know, happy would be a small word to explain what i was feeling at that moment.
Does not matter. She listened
My destination came. I didn't look back, i didn't want to leave a bad impression.
But i did. She was looking somewhere else and i could not believe she was getting down at the same station.
"Hauz Khas. Metro station. Doors will open on the right. mind the gap"
I got down from the Metro. She passed from my side. I stood behind her on the escalator.
I took a step upward on the same stair she was standing on, looking somewhere else
( looking for me?). I snapped my fingers in front of her face(i know that was cheap)
Just to draw her attention and let her know that i am standing beside.
"Hi", I said. "Hi" She replied.
(okay now what am i suppose to say now)
"I am Sudhanshu" I spoke hesitantly, she replied with her sweet name.
And conversation continued till escalator reached its end. On the exit gate i took my wallet out assuming that i also have a metro card (yaad kaha rehta hai ab aise mein.)
And conversation continued
I kept my wallet inside and started searching for the token ( hurry you fool, she will not wait), luckily i got it in my left pocket.
Thankfully Hauz Khas escalators are long enough to talk. With few words and chuckles exchanged we reached finally at the exit gate to say good bye.
I put my earphones on again with the song "teri meri..mit jaani hai dooriyan"
And started walking towards HKV.
Hope this story does not end here as they say
"Goodbyes are not for ever, they simply mean, i will miss you until we meet again"

P.S. :-
You are indeed very beautiful.
The simplicity of your words and emotions does some magic. Nothing done in hype and spice, all kept in peace and white. Easy to flow, clearly.
ReplyDeleteNothing shall be needed to edit here. Words turn emotions into gold. God bless you so much.
P.S- I am happy I am first one to comment and probably first one to read also. :)
Seedhi baat,no bakwaas...you surely are indebted to DMRC for getting you closer to your destination :p
